Need help with Selenite Magno Grey maintenance

Hi all,

I don't know where to get help with this but this seemed a better forum than my model-specific one.

So i got myself a used C43 with Selenite Magno Grey color and it looks awesome, i'm happy with it. But I did read from here and reddit before, that the matte color needs some special care. And I think i've heard that it shouldn't be washed with regular washing products and you should prefer matte specific products. Also that a sponge should be avoided and pressure washer + foam cannon or sth similar be preferred, ideally also pressurised air to dry the car..

Unfortunately, I live in an apartment, so I don't have the opportunity to properly wash my car myself. So before the winter, I took it to one manual car detailing place where they supposedly had some matte-specific products and processes but I think they still used a sponge or at least microfiber cloth to dry the car. On a regular basis, I just visit those self-service pressure-washing stations (or even automatic car washes but with no-contact wash programs). I usually don't even dry the car, i only did it once with 4-5 microfibre cloths.

But the prices from that detailing shop are quite high and I was thinking of trying someone else. But it seems most places don't have anything matte-specific. I called one carwash and they told me that they've washed matte colors the same as metallic colors and it's fine, they never have had any problems. They also said, that sponges are fine, as long as you add a proper amount of water all the time.

Their prices are almost half cheaper compared to the first detailing shop.

So now I'm wondering if there is actually any problems with getting a "regular", metallic color treatment on a matte car. They did tell me that regular washing products have a bit of wax in it, but just some regular (hot) wax shouldn't be a problem, right? I always use the hot wax program in those self-service stations as well..

I just know that you can't/shouldn't polish the matte color but other than that, is there a real difference? And should I search for a proper car wash who actually acknowledges the difference in products and processes for a matte color or accept what 90% of them would tell me that the regular process is fine and nothing bad will happen?

TL;DR:
Can regular metallic car wash products/procedures be used for the matte color or is it a must to use specific matte products and follow some other procedures when washing?

Thanks a lot in advance!!
