Removing wax marks from a convertible

I noticed a couple of areas of wax that was rubbed off on the convertible top where it meets the body. I don't want to use the wrong product to remove it. Does anyone have any ideas as to what product I need to use? Thank you!

Soft OLD toothbrush and some mild detergent watered down
Example = couple drops of dawn in a cup and then rinse well when done.

Always start WEAK and wimpy and less aggressive and work your way towards what gets the job done....
