Parking outside now

Life has changed. I now park outside; no garage. Shaded for much of the day.

Car cover-Keeps the sun off, keeps tree debris off, but my understanding is that if the car isn't clean, the cover can actually damage the paint.

Any thoughts on this?

Also looking for recommendations on how to keep the rubber trim nice.

Thanks

yes if dirty car and you put on cover you are basically wiping that dirt into the paint which can at worse scratch the paint or create minor swirling.

Would avoid car cover. Agree scratching is likely with covers. Just wash regularly (ideally weekly) and seal with a durable ceramic like GTechniq C2V3 every 4-6 months. GTechniq C4 is good for trim.
