When you run your finger nail over it - does the nail get caught in it?

you would have to do some significant sanding to get to the base of this.

unfortunately, I’m not at the location where the vehicle is. I believe the guy’s finger caught some of the scratch. I have located a factory lens on eBay that’s brand new but it’s $200.

The scratch on your headlight looks like it might be more than just a surface-level blemish. While it's hard to tell for certain from the picture, deep scratches like this often can't be fully removed without professional sanding and polishing, or even replacing the headlight lens if it's severe. You could try a headlight restoration kit first—something with fine sandpaper and a polishing compound—to see if it makes a difference. Once the scratch is smoothed out as much as possible, applying a ceramic coating to the headlight can provide extra protection against future scratches and enhance clarity.

I ended up buying another C400 due to this. The headlight was also scratched but I used up using Novus to remove them and it worked.
