Impressed with Meguiar's Ultimate

Took delivery of new AMG GLE53 1 months ago. 550 miles on the clock now. Wheels dirty with brake dust and needing attention. I was intending to order some CARPRO IronX based on positive feedback here. But in the meanwhile I thought I'd try a bottle of Maguiar's Ultimate Wheel cleaner just to get a jump on the cleanup. I am IMPRESSED!

Cleaner working prior to quick scrub.

4-minute soak followed by quick brush, rinse and towel dry.

Afterwards...
Afterwards...

Very pleased. Given the Maguiar's is less than $10/bottle and readily available locally at Wal-Mart and such, I don't really see the need to order the IronX. Am I missing something?

Keep using it if it works for you.

Most normal locally purchased (read inexpensive) products work fine for most everyday detailing needs.

All about technique - you let it dwell on wheels for good amount of time which then requires less elbow grease to clean em up.

Only thing I would say is try not to ever let a product dry on your car parts be it wheels, tires paint leather unless directions say to.

Great stuff, I also recommend Sonax.

It looks like you have CCB’s. Is there any precaution you need to take with spraying something so caustic on them? A couple times probably won’t hurt, but repeated use may.

I have CCB’s on my F430 and am very careful what I use on them.

I must be blind but those don't look like CCBs to me.

It’s difficult to tell from the picture. The “cleaned” picture kinda looks like a CCB rotor, but it may just be the discoloration of the rotor from the cleaner?

Fair enough but I was thinking with those brake calipers it won't be CCBs, as wasn't CCBs gold plated? https://tro-nik.com/wp-content/uploa...ystem-pic4.jpg
