My 1985D, 158,000 miles, decided not to start today. Turned switch, glow plug light on, when out, turned key to crank, nothing. Battery is charged, lights. radio all working.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I need a more exact description of your car. 1985D isn't helping, I don't know if you mean 300D, 300SD, or 190D.

I can tell you that your ignition switch may be out. You need to test it by bypassing the switch and jumping the starter, but until I get more info, I can't tell you how.

Ok, I'm not familiar with that model. But still, you need to find a way to bypass the switch and jump the starter. That way, you'll know if it is the switch or the starter itself. You can rule out starter if it turns over.
