I have a 190D 2.5 and it is by far the best damned car on the road. Absolutely bulletproof. However, it tends to burn glow plugs all the time. I keep replacing them, but they keep burning. It has well over 300,000 miles and is still going strong. I couldn't be prouder of it.

I too have a 89 190D 2.5L... I guess you know this is a rather rare car in that only like 360 copies were imported to the US that year. Many came via the European Deleviry Program as did mine. I was the second owner however. The "Tank" was the car my son drove throughtout high school and college. It came by it's name after he hit a washing machine dropped off of a truck directly in front of him. It most likely saved his life and the lives of the three friends riding with him. I now have it back as my son is the proud owner of a C230K Coupe (2.3 L.) I plan on keeping the "Tank" a long, long time...it's part of the family !

Good to hear
Ours just happens to be called "Blue Thunder" because of its blue paint, and of course of its stellar acceleration. Indeed, the cars of that era were tanks. We had a 560 SEL back about 10 years ago... Now that was a tank!
