I live in California and want to be able to spec out and order a new diesel. I have heard conflicting reports of whether the bluetec diesel which comes out this Fall will be available in 45 or all 50 states. One report (Car & Driver) says yes but other reports I have seen says that the urea system in the bluetec engine won't be utilized until 2008, meaning the car will still only be available in the same 45 states. I also thought the low sulfur diesel which will be out this September in California makes us eligible to purchase new diesel cars regardless of the bluetec engine technology.

Anyone know the facts here?
