Vacuum Lines

Hi,

I have a 1984 300D (my third MB, I love these cars) and while working on the vacuum system I notice something that doesn’t look right. Attached to the firewall, behind the Brake Booster there’s a devise that has two clear hoses (1 in, 1 out?). Both lines are cut short and not attached to anything but still in the vacuum harness that runs to various places. There’s also a clear line running out of the back of the turbo that goes directly to a device on top of the throttle that’s right next to the throttle/transmission check valve connection (the one with the green check valve). Somehow this doesn’t seem right and I get the feeling that these two things are related. Am I right or not and how are these things supposed to be hooked up?

Thanks for any advice or help.

Mitch

I'm not sure...not ever having had a turbo. Have you looked at the vacuum diagrams to see if those lines are shown?
I may have a link to vacuum diagrams I can dig up if you have none.
