Can anyone help restore low end power to '87 300SDL?

Replaced leaking "shutoff diaphragm" by loosening ALDA and now have no power/torque below 3000 rpm. Anyone willing to suggest what and how much to adjust to bring back the power now gone?? ...cannot find any credible documention for advice nor knowledgeable mechanics
