I drove a vw diesel for almost 200K with no problems going every 10K oil changes with Synthetic. The first two oil changes were important, they were done at 5K interval. Glad to see Oil wars aren't just limited to The TDI boards.

I had a VW Jetta TDi 1999 serices iii and found it very good. Very easy to chip with a plug and play chip. This was one of the last plug and play ECU. After that model year modifications have to be done by soldering off the chip, re-flashing and soldering again.

The only complaint were those rear drums.
