Staged performance upgrades for E300?

Staged performance upgrades for E300?
Looking at getting another E300TD the last one was totalled in a front side collision with a car going more than 50mph. MB = tank, not a scratch on the passengers and some asprin and heat packs took care of them offenders car (BWM) didn't fair well at all.

Anywho, been thinking bout getting another one for myself and I know there are chips that are available but what about intake, exhaust and injectors?

What has been your mileage after just the chip?

Also, anyone know any 98-99 diesels that have been extremely upgraded? Meaning head port, new intake manifold (the one there looks a bit constricited) and or propane injection? My understanding is the 99 e300 tranny is an AMG tranny with different gearing.
