1995 E300d MPG Question

I recently purchased a 1995 E300d and it runs beautifully. The only issue is that I don't seem to be getting the mpg that others have been getting. I am averaging about 25 +- per gallon. Is there anything that I could be doing to get better MPG?

In what sort of driving? To & from work site (3 mi/day)? Pure highway cruise @ what average mph?

Type of driving has such a huge effect on mpg that it's impossible to tell how your fuel consumption compares to others. Please post details! Oh, BTW, if you're quoting mpg figures from your trip computer, be advised that they're highly inflated.

I was sceptical too with the computer calculations initially but when I did the "top-up" method the consumption is similar.

The E320 CDi can do 40 mpg (Imperial) and even more if you translate to American mpg. The CDi really excels in highway cruising around 60 - 70 mph, putting many so-called family sedans to shame.
