hesitates under very light load

Under certain conditions my engine seems to throb - the rpm goes up and down slightly instead of staying at a steady pace. Anyone know whatsup with that?

I noticed your post for smoking as well........do you have the inline 6 or v6 diesel?

V6 diesel, take it to a dealer for diagnosis, nothing is common yet on these engines.

Inline 6, could be a injector problem, an air leak between the air mass meter and the engine or an EGR problem. Does the engine sound different? Low on power? higher fuel consumption? Starting ok? did the fault occur suddenly or gradually?

straight six. Getting good mileage - over 40 if I stay below 60, 33 if I stay below 75 and only stomp it once in a while.

Doesn't sound different as far as I can tell. Good power. Idled funny at start once. No pictogram warnings. 95k miles
