Oil change problem

I have a 2006 Clk V6 Diesel. Believe it takes 8.5L of mobil 1

Problem is i went to buy the oil and the guy said i need to find out if my car has a diesel particulate filter or not, because there's a Mobil 1 ESP for the models with the DPF.

Have already, but was unsure to trust that the DPF's where installed only post 2007 on both US and our UK models?

Can anyone confirm? or better still, tell me what to look for on the exhaust?

Look in your OM under fluid capacities and see which spec your engine requires; 229.5 or 229.51. Then go to the approved lists http://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevoli...ets-sort1.html and look up the spec/product you can use.

The link provided in the thread has the correct info for N.A., that does not mean it is the correct data for your model in Europe. New technologies are generally released there a few years earlier than our receipt in NA.

My 2008 4 cyl diesel C Class has two canisters in the exhaust engine pipe which are the catalytic convertors.

I do not have a DPF ( Australia) but I am told it is a canister in the exhaust system with two small take off pipes which measure the differential pressure across the DPF & tell the engine management that the DPF needs regenerating.

You may be able to find this system.

The oil recommended in Australia for both DPF & non DPF W204's 220CDI is
Mobil 1 ESP 5W /30.It is what I use.
