W204 DPF problems and Oli Consumption
Hello MB drivers.
I drive a W204 C320 CDI.
It has run 280.000 km. and it runs absolutely perfect.
But now I have got problems with the DPF (diesel particulate files) that will not regenerate. At the same time it also has an oil consumption of 1 liter per 1400 km.
SO - I'm looking for a MB-expert, who can tell what the cause of the oil consumption might be, and if there may be a correlation.
And I'm also looking for some "Codes" that must be entered into the test computer, to force a regeneration of DPF.
Can any of you MB-drivers help - thanks in advance.
Sincerely Dahl / DENMARK / Europe.

You will need to do some tests to determine your oil conumption issues.
You will need to do a compression test and leakdown test on all cylinder to determine if there is a fault on 1 cylinder or all cylinders. I would also suggest removing the exhaust beween the turbo and dpf to inspect if there is any oil deposits here (indicating oil leakage from the turbo).
What oil have you been using since new?
No point in regenerating the DPF as with high oil consumption it will just blockup again very quickly. The oil consumption needs to be reduced first.
Passwords for regeneration are available from jcrecordings.

Can't speak for your oil consumption problems but I've read that DPFs (like most mechanical things) have a limited service life and,IIRC,the service life for a DPF tends to be about 150,000 miles...a point that your car's now close to.

Hi again Drivers.
Thanks for the feedback
I have just got the car for 5 month ago, så I have no idea about what kind of Oil it have been using since new.
Right now it's using some 5-40 stuff from my MB-dealer.
It sounds like it could become a expensive affair: A new turbo and a new DPF, and a lot of work hours.... Believe I will try to check the exhausts for oil deposits before I robs a bank :-)
An other thing: I'm not sure I understand the word "jcrecordings".
Can you help me again here ??
The Danish Mercedes importer will not tell the codes.
