I need the location of engine serial number on a 92 300SD

I'd appreciate if someone would point to the location of the engine serial number on a 1992 300SD.

Subscribe to EPC-net and pull up the DATA CARD on the car. It has the engine, tranmission serial numbers and much more information on the car.

I have seen them on a machined section on the side of the block at the bottom, just before the sump.

Sounds like someone is trying to get their rod bender rebuilt? Or see if its a crate replacement?
