87 300SDL parts car avail
My wife's car just died.
1987 300SDL developed multiple cracks in the head. I had just spent a pile on new serpentine belt, tensioners, tensioner pulley, thermostat and waterpump.
Last year replaced all fuel injectors and all fuel lines from the pump to the injectors. New MB neutral safety switch .
My mechanic said everything was VERY sound but the head just went. I don't have the time to replace the head myself - and my mechanic wants WAY too much to do the work (new head runs 2400 from MB just for casting + lifters + glow plugs .....+ labor).
I just can not put down that kind of money on a 24 year old car even though she was otherwise in very good shape.
Any idea what she would be worth as a parts car and are there any interested parties. She's in West TN - about half way between Memphis and Nashville.
