W211016 e270cdi mod
So far the 270 with cdi3 om617.??? has been decatted with a straight pipe and removed dpf. The 220 om612.??? of the same year has had the dpf gutted. The only mods done to these are was having the 270 remapped. It was doing 11 sec 0-100kmh but after cleaning the MAF inside the air filter it is now spinning the rear wheels and dispaches the same in 8.9 sec.
Found out that the ecu cuts power if the intake temp exceeds 50degC which is easy as the ambient here is 38degC. Would a bigger FMIC be able to cope or would a water methanol injection system be better?
Am planning to scavange for a 270 turbo to hybrid the 220 and a 320 turbo fitted to 270 hybrid. Is this a good and cheap combination that is also durable?
Thanks for the great information from gaiex and tuikku and the rest. Its been very exciting discovering the possibilities and hidden talents in this MB engine.

1. The head obviously needs to have a steel insert for the injector seat. Am planning to do a 3 angle valve job and polish the runners of both intake and exhaust.
2. Also thinking of balancing the crankshaft.
Besides these 3 things what else should be done to get a better performing and longer lasting engine?
I too from Malaysia and drives a 270 with Brabus D4 piggyback. Where did you de-cat the dpf ? Mine's already gutted but according to the forum, the hollow chamber creates turbulence. Wanna fit a straight flow to it instead. Trying to avoid Jaffa as it's always packed.
As for your injector scoring, it's call the black death. I had one injector with that problem. The cause of it was the copper washer not seating the injector properly. Replace with genuine MB ones (they are softer) and the problem will go away. I had to place 2 washers in that injector to cure it.
Where are you located? Perhaps we could have a drink sometime.

My 270 also had the gutted cat box but I had it cut out and replaced with a mandrel bent straight pipe. The difference is in the top end where the extra ex gas flow have the smooth flow thru the straight pipe. Give me a call 012 214 68 69 and we can talk.
