Has Any One Changed Bluetec Air Filter?
I just picked up a nice '08 E320 Bluetec for the wife over the weekend (our first diesel). I've already changed the oil myself (and will do so on a 5K schedule). Couldn't find the Mobil 1 ESP but did find Valvoline Synpower MST 5-40 at Napa that met the 229.51 specs. Thanks to the people on this forum, I was able to use the dipstick access to evacuate the oil. Piece of cake.
I wanted to check the condition of the air filters but when I saw how difficult it was to unscrew some of the fasteners (especially on the driver's side), I thought I'd ask to see if anyone had any tips to get reasonably easy access to the air filters. I'd appreciate any info on this. Thanks.
BTW, I'm very impressed with the mileage. 36 consistently but did hit 37 mpg once heading west into mostly head and quartering winds at 70 to 75 mph.
