fuel shutoff valve

Does anyone know how to troubleshoot a fuel shutoff valve on the OM606 engine (E300d mercedes)? it looks like a straightforward solenoid that opens and closes the fuel flow. However, it has a four prong connector, which I find confusing.
An electrical schematic would be helpful.
Any thoughts?

MY take is ----Unless you are doing this(testing pin resistance) for educational purposes, the SOV has fault codes for failure. If you do not have a fault there is nothing wrong electrically with the SOV. Change the rear O-ring and be happy!!

sov

That's good to know...well, there is no "check engine" light popping up, so I guess the sov is working, right?
