OM651 Injectors
Hi All!
I'm wondering for those that have a 651 engine that has had the "recall" Delphi injectors with the fuel return lines fitted. Have you noticed a increase in fuel consumption?
I've had them in for about a month, I notice it felt different as soon as I first drove it but I figured to give it a bit of time to allow them to run in. I've noticed the engine is louder, rougher below 1500rpm (particularly 1000-1200rpm), the gearbox is now holding gears longer and avoiding staying below 1500rpm (eg. wont use 5th gear at 82kph on cruise control on level ground, if I push it into 5th gear the engine feels like it's surging and "not happy" about it. Its a particular road I travel often, it was always in 5th gear on this road before the injector change). Basicly the fuel consumption is up about 15-20% on what I used to be able to get and on the long 80kph run I do often my 1987 190D 2.5 is now more economical........and I'm not happy!
Have any of you had the same experience? What's been the general response from the dealer? I'm going to have the discussion with them next week and I'm pretty sure I'm about to get the brush off......

Still going round in circles on this one, thought I'd do a time lapse to show the issue I'm having. It's most noticable in long distance driving (cruise control 80-110kph). Notice once I set the cruise control to 100 the fuel consumption just keeps clicking up........
