ETR Switch

I am currently working on the AC on a 1984 300D and everything under the hood is fine, however, Im not getting a signal from the ETR switch.

I think it is located up under the dash somewhere, but I can't see it. Do you have to take off the front of the AC controls to get to it or can you go in from the Glove compartment side of the console. I know what it looks like, I just can't see it. I also think it's left of the Expansion valve.

Thanks in advance for anyone who can help, Happy Motoring !!
