ECU tune for R320CDI

Hi all,

I'm looking at getting an ECU tune to improve fuel economy and reliability on my 2008 R320 CDI. I was wondering what everyone's experiences are with the different tunes. The car is a daily driver, so I don't want to send my computer away to get remapped. Generally, I think I want a tune that has the EGR delete, and I want to stay away from cheapo tuning boxes.

After searching this site and researching the different brands, I really don't feel like I'm at the point of making an educated decision, so I would really like peoples' input on things such as real world results, installation process, features, negative aspects, etc.

I'm a reasonably techie person, so I'm confident with any install process.

Thanks in advance

Oh yeah, a couple more things . . . I would like to know the impact on emissions/emissions test results because I still need to pass testing every other year here in Ontario.

I also use diesel additives with every tank to maximize the cetane number to get a full burn, and to lubricate everything and keep it running smoothly.

The tunes I've come across so far that delete the EGR are:

Green Diesel Engineering - excellent reviews and very Mercedes diesel specific
TDR Auto - haven't heard a whole loot about them and they cover pretty much every automaker under the sun

I was looking at the race chip, but I don't think they do the EGR delete, which is the primary thing I want to get out of it.

I went ahead with the GDE. It seems like the best option.

Have you tried contacting TDR Auto to see if they can do an EGR delete for you? They are cheaper than GDE but inconvenient for me because they're in the US (I'm in Canada) and my car is a daily driver, so pulling out the computer and sending it to them isn't practical either.
