2008 220cdi engine swap
Hello, I am new to this forum and I just bought a '08 Mercedes Sprinter 220cdi.
The engine is dead and I don't want to Waste my time fixing the engine.
Therefore, I am looking for some info.
The sprinter has a OM646.986 engine
And I have found good condition Om646.963 engines for much more reasonable prices.
Now here's my question;
Can I use a Om646.963 or other OM646 engines or is there any connector or harness differences?
I have attached a couple of pictures that suggests that all the 220cdi's (from 611 to 646) can be mounted to the same transmissions. But I did not find anything about harness differences.
I hope someone can help me

Nope the 646.986 is used in the 906.xxx for standard, japan and latin america----the 646.963 is used in models 203.xxx-----you are much better off staying with the 906.xxx as there are many more models that the engine is used!!

Looks like you are Norwegian, while most members on this forum are from USA/Canada where those engines are unknown and cars are too cheap to spend money on engine replacement.
I doubt Plutoe has seen any engine he is talking about in his whole life.
You might be much better getting hands-on experience help on European forums.
Good luck.
