2009 E320 Code 0544 EGT Temp Sensor Bank 2

OK, here is my problem. At 120K or so got the 0544 code. Cleaned the sensor and OK for 2000 miles then code again. Replaced EGT Temp sensor (Rock Auto part) and OK for about 3000 miles then code again. Reset and good for 1000 then code. Started to take it to dealer and engine light went off. Back on a few days later, off a few day later, off and on since but seems to now stay off longer than before. Did my EGT Temp Sensor replacement also require a computer update or am I just having a weird problem. I cannot find a loose connection or a short.

Might not be the sensor but the wiring going to it. Those harnesses often have heat shields on them, and, unfortunately those heat shields are often moved or removed by technicians doing other work, and then never put back.
