Mercedes ML350 Bluetec
Help. ML350 Bluetec starts but shuts off after 30 seconds.
I purchased a 2009 Mercedes ML350 (diesel) AWD SUV from a family member.
The car ran great for years then the turbo was replaced. The car ran well again for a month then it went into limp mode and would not crank. They were told by Mercedes dealership (KNOWN to be dishonest) the motor was locked up and would need to be replaced.
Family member was "done" with the car at this point so we purchased. The motor wasn't locked up. We towed it home and it turned over easily when we turned it manually.
We found that the starter was bad so it was replaced. The car immediately cranked after replacing starter but ran rough and would shut off after 30 seconds. It runs the best without any exhaust on the motor (unhooked). We cleaned the catalytic converter and it runs more smoothly but will still shut off within 30 seconds to 2 minutes or when you press the accelerator.
Any suggestions?

Out Of Control!!
Without the specific diesel tools your foooooooooked----find some one with a DAS Xentry diagnostic set and pray they know how to use it, because they will find the fault much quicker that your finger in the wind approach!----yes it will cost some money!
PS: Watch out for the idiot that suggests taking fan blades off to solve the problem!
