For a blutec, yes, it very much does. Especially if you actually drive 10k on your oil.

Few years back I drove my 1999 diesel Ford Truck a lot
That antique has no relation to a modern diesel other than being a piston engine.

Read what the sample is given for.
I had 1972 Detroit diesel, who being 2-cycle required low ash oils as well. I could get them only at dealers, so low ash oils are not only DPF era requirement.
