adblue metering system

What is the metering system and which parts would need to be replaced? The metering system has a malfunction F72F00 Adblue metering F52F00 and F82F00 metered quantity is too low (it's not by the way).

You can check with a dealer, but the reports say that whole float,/pump/heater unit is sold by MB as single part only.
Meaning $$$ even before you go to SCN coding.
If you are good with your hands, you can pull it and try to clean contacts.

I wonder if he is not talking about the injector end, meaning the part plugged into the exhaust. The heater and pump only pump the fluid to the injector.

You are not going to diy this. Spend your 1 hour if labor for proper diagnosis and move on with life. I've been mb dealer tech since 01 and sprinter for the last 5 years so I'm familiar with diesel systems very well. I get calls everyday from buddies at different European and Indy shops about these and even guys from the mb car shop who don't deal with the diesel systems often and need help. Any tests you do to metering valve or pump or the rest of scr system will need proper test equipment and knowledge of these systems and proper testing.
Codes are just faults. From there you must do real testing and diag to find what is going on. Beware of anyone claiming fixes just by looking at a code. If it was that easy I wouldn't have a job. Also generic scan tool equipment doesn't use proper code descriptions for the codes for these Mercedes diesels. Best advice is bring in to a good mb dealer that is good with diesels. One that services sprinters will have at least one good diesel guy.
