Are people interested in this looking for a 304 or 409 stainless or just wanting a cheaper aluminized steel pipe?
Stock diameter or bumping up to a 3" diameter pipe?
not sure the differance on them price wise but i would say something that wont rust and as far as the diameter i would bump it to 3 inch..

I haven't reach out to anyone yet but have been considering it. I was thinking of taking the car to a local dyno if I did have one made to see if there were any gains to be had on a tuned car between a stock downpipe, one with a gutted cat, and a larger 3" one.
That being said this is just something I am wanting to do - I can get busy with other things and easily distracted. I think 409 stainless would be a good compromise between longevity and price point. If they made a jig though I dont see any reason they couldn't be made in 304 or aluminized steel.

sweet bro, hopefully something works out. and they can make all of them the same out of yours. they should all than fit plug and play. only thing is they have to use the same ends were the turbo couples with the pipe, which in your case they can use yours but for us out of townees they have to come up with one that will be the same.
I’m also Interested on a downpipe for my cdi. I have a 2006 e320 cdi with a tune. After a few hours of driving I lose boost pressure and I have lost of power. I think it’s because I still have the Cat installed still.

Sounds like limp mode to me. Can you pull the codes? There's not really any reason for the cat to cause that. Feel free to pm me or start another thread about it. It could also be a failing turbo actuator, but that's usually more constant than intermittent.

Yeah it goes into limp mode. But no check engine lights comes on or codes. It only happens when I’m pushing the car hard or been driving in city traffic for a long time (2+ hours). I park it for a few hours and it works correctly again. The previous owner said it’s the cat that’s needs replacing or delete it.

Have you tried the read the codes?
Some times the check engine light may not come on even with a stored code. Do you have a way to monitor boost like a Scangauge2 or Star?
