High Idle W212 E350
Hello,
As far as I know idle is increased during regen of DPF and when AC is on...
Its currently-2 outside so AC is not on and I checked DPF temperature and its only at 300DegC so its not doing a regen...
What else would cause idle to increase? Its 900rpm at beginning of drive and drops to 600rpm after a longer drive of about 45 min..

Low battery voltage or if the battery has to be immediately recharged can also cause idle to increase. On those cars battery charging is controlled by ECU.

Ok thanks, I was planning to replace the battery.. It seems to start with enough power and voltage during cranking is above 9V which is normal..
One clue might be that it starts and idles at normal 600rpm but very shortly after you start driving it goes up to 900rpm..

You are correct, this was the problem..
When I cold start the car with Hvac system shut off, my idle is 600 the whole time..
When I cold start with HVac on, idle is high and after a long drive, I notice it comes back down...
The battery starts the car very easy, so Im just not sure if its on its way out or if this is normal.. At least I can control it now..
