2012 GL350 HPFP Re-Install
I have removed and re-installed the HPFP on my SUV. I found conflicting information, and less than clear instructions (to me) on how to install it. Has anyone successfully done it here? Some say that timing does not matter, others say that it matters on certain years:

My engine is .825. I have instructions on re-install printed out (im 99% sure I printed them from my WIS with my VIN punched in and not from a forum). The instructions do describe the timing of it. I re-installed it to my best interpretation of this. What I did was:
1. Found tooth "A" as per instruction
2. Count back and found teeth "E" and "F"
3. When installing the HPFP back in the head, tried best to ensure that teeth "E" and "F" are pointing up vertically in relation to the ground.
I had valve cover off and camshafts removed at this time, then set everything to TDC without rotating the HPFP. Does this sound correct? is that what the instruction means in step 16 - Adjust the position from the drive gear (7) to the high-pressure pump (2) The teeth (E, F) must stand vertically upwards. ?
With everything else timed so precisely, this seems like a not very reliable way to ensure it is aligned properly. Or maybe teeth "E" and "F" are aligned vertically to some mark on the pump?
I have attached a document with similar instructions that I found on one of the threads here.
