Should i even be owning a diesel truck???
So based on things I've been reading about newer diesels I'm even wondering if I should be owning and driving a diesel and I'm curious people's opinion.
90% of my driving is city driving and starting and stopping the truck about 8 to 12 times a day and most of my trips are only about 3 to 5 miles. My highway trips are about 10 to 12 miles and maybe twice a week
About once a month I tow a 8,000-lb trailer about 12 miles.
Occasionally during the summer I will tow another 8,000 lb trailer also city driving the same scenario as above with starting and stopping about a dozen times a day and also each trip only being a few miles.
am I looking for more problems and am I doing more damage to my Duramax with this kind of driving???

Bro, this is a MB forum. I dunno how much more reliable Duramax engines are, but the above conditions aren't exactly primo for an OM642

3-5 miles is hard on any diesel. Don't matter if it's a OM642 or Duramax etc....Great way to plug up the DPF filter, which in turn causes issues for the NOX sensors, EGR, etc.....If you really want a diesel, get all that stuff deleted.
