Diesel recall

Hey guys I wonder if you guys could help me out taking my car in 2014 blue tech GL and for the record I know several people had mentioned that they will address the chatter in the timing chain if this is this correct?

Never heard of a recall regarding the chatter/loose timing chain. Might help if you could provide some documentation? But I doubt that there is a recall as recalls only apply to safety issues and a loose/rattling timing chain is not a safety issue.

FWIW, it's not a recall in the official sense but there is a campaign as part of a settlement with the EPA and DOJ in the USA called the AEM ("Additional Emissions Modification").

And yes, AEM specifically extends the factory warranty of the timing chain on a 2014 GL350 in the USA. And not only is it covered, there is also an associated class action settlement that includes $$$ for owners.

(There are lots of threads here in the diesel subform as well as the X166 (GL) subforum coving the AEM and lawsuit.)

EDIT: added attachments

If you did not do AEM yet, call the dealer and ask what is their availability to do so.
Not only dealers are overwhelmed with the job, but lately US is having shortage of Nox sensors.
Still 4 years extended warranty on old car is hard to beat.

Yikes!

Glad I had mine done as soon as I could have and I'm thrilled that based on our annual milage this truck will be covered to its 11th birthday.
