WTB E Class Bluetec

not sure if I’m allowed to do this but I also posted in the E W212 area also with my story

Hello,

I realize we have market place however I want to tell a story about my weekend last Saturday on a diésel E350 Bluetec 2013I tried to buy in Tampa FL. I had been talking to the seller for about a week and I got a dealer VMI sheet on the VIN and the car seemed to have an “ok” service history. So I decided to go down and drive the car, when I first got into the car I knew it needed engine mounts due to the vibration, then less than a mile from the dealership it through a code and went into limp mode. I took the car in the next morning to Mercedes’ of Tampa for a pre purchase inspection to find out the car I was looking at for 15K needed 14K worth of repairs, literally No Joke!

long story short my $400 pre inspection revealed the car had a junk yard motor installed in it about 6 months prior because the original one was destroyed at the 77,000 mile mark due to an oil change with improper oil. That $400 saved me 15K and potentially tons of repairs on a complete disaster of a car.

so, I am in the market for an E350 Bluetec with proper maintance, oil cooler seals completed, and verifiable service history prefer one owner. Im
located in Florida and need white exterior 2011-2013.

1922 Ford Model T / no OBD
I replied in W212 section, but in case you'd consider SUV, I think I will part with my 2016 GLE with 4 cylinder Bluetec. The car is pristine with about 120k miles and after AEM it has 4 years extended warranty on most of engine parts.
28 mpg in SUV. White in, white out.
Reminds me that the same class ML we had back in 2000 was "good" making 15 mpg.

The E250 is the better choice.

This place is a joke.
Run away from any MB diesel built after 2006.

Nonsense. The E250 is a wonderful car. And, probably one of the best bargains out there right now. Find a 2015 or newer.

Mine's been perfectly reliable for 130K miles.

For MB diesels, stay away from the OM642 engine. The OM651 is newer and, quite frankly, the better designed, more efficient and more reliable powerplant for most non-towing, non-Sprinter applications (and the Sprinter app may be debatable). My advice is this: You decide which MB platform you want, but have an OM651 under the hood. Period.
