Steering wheel locks while driving
I have mercedes sedan diesel 2006 E200. The following situation happaned twice in the last two weeks: I was driving and had to do a sharp turn. While turning, the steering wheel locked and could not move the wheel at all. I had to stop the car and turn off the engine. After stopping, when I turned on the engine again, the steering wheel started to work normally. Luckily i was driving slowly with no cars around.
Anyone else had the same issue?

That sounds like serious hazard.
Judging from E model, you are not in America, when most members here drive US models.
But assuming your ignition switch is digital.,like our models, you might have trouble with key recognition, or switch failure.
Get it scanned ASAP. In USA such dangerous failures are reported to government agency.
Also your issue is not diesel-related, when you can get more exposure in W211 section.
