Anyone had this Om642 oil leak before?

Previously had smoking while idling at a light which stopped after replacing turbo inlet, pcv neck seal and crankcase breather on back of engine.

but today after sitting a couple days I start my car it’s smoking smelling like burned diesel oil but it stopped after seeming to have burned off after some driving. I take a look and it seems to be leaking behind the oil filler NOT filter housing. There is a decent amount of caked soot pictured below

seems like a simple gasket but has anyone had this particular oil leak or is it likely from another spot?

usually the oil cooler in the island but not sure if it drains down that way. Hopefully others chime in. Sucks if its the oil cooler seals from what I understand.

Thanks quint22, the seals were already done on my car but that was half way through it’s current life of 278K miles, I was told the upgraded seals should not leak again but who knows

this oil leak is on the front passenger side of the engine with a ton of soot there, Similar posts say the vacuum pump or gasket ? I’m not all the way familiar with the engine yet…

smoke is emerging from under the car if I let it sit for some days but nothing but the smell normally

Oil cooler leaks show at draining hole on driver side, or when that 1 is clog- it will go to the end of the valley and run down on transmission.
On my OM642 I had oil filter post seals leaking and it was quite a nightmare to pinpoint as oil would drip on belt and splash around.
Hard to see the area, but wash it and wrap paper towels around.
US dealers did not carry those seals separately, but they are available from other suppliers.

I recorded a vid to help see better, all I did was pop the hood and start the car you can see it’s getting wet here immediately and all the soot on that side of my engine, even a puff comes up at my lens in this clip.

its either that seal leaking and spreading a bit further back or there is another seal leaking as well between left air box and oil filling housing. You can see some residue down there by that heat shield

I guess I just need help IDing the seals for this part of the engine and where to find them. Oil bubbles out those seams as soon as I start the car
