Was fuel filter included in AEM?
Does anybody know if the fuel filter was included in the AEM?
We noticed our 2010 ML350 Bluetec has taken a couple extra cranks to start recently and I have occasionally smelled diesel when near the truck. I checked the fuel injectors and don't see any obvious leaks, and no puddles on the ground (we had a pinched o ring right after buying it that looked like an oil leak).
I checked my records and I replaced the fuel filter about 30k miles ago so it's due again. But when I just looked at it the fuel filter has OEM style clamps on it, so I don't think I put them on. But the hose at the filter also doesn't look great so I might replace it and the filter.
I have the receipt for the AEM and couldn't find a fuel filter on it, but it might have a goofy number that doesn't match the older numbers.
If the fuel filter was replaced last year with the AEM then I will just replace the suspect hose and save $100. But since I'm in there already...
Thanks!

Honestly no, our local dealership is a joke. They are understaffed, nobody knows anything about the older diesels, and because they waited so long to do the AEM while they waited for parts ours now burns oil.
I had to look up as many parts as I could but I didn't see the fuel filter listed. Hence my question.

The filter isn't listed, but I wonder if they just replaced it while it was out. I might as well just replace it so I know for sure.
Thanks!

I just took my E350 in for service the other week, and fuel filter was due for a replacement. Looked at the AEM receipt and records (like you, thought it was replaced) and my SA confirmed that it was not part of the AEM. I know my was not replaced then.
