adding a new sub...?
So I want to install a sub in my E550 Coupe. The current rear deck mounted "sub", which is just something close to a 6x9 speaker using the trunk in a free air application, is just not cutting it.
I'm a huge fan of good bass. Not ridiculous mind bending, gut crushing bass...but bass that can handle the low end extensions that some of my CD's mastering engineers intended for me to hear as a listener.
To that end, the bass that the Harmon /Kardon system produces is good bass...but there is just not enough of it. I have to believe someone here has added a sub in their E350/550 coupe....so here are some open questions:
1) What problems did you run into with the wiring (fiber to line level).
2) Also, did you take or split the signal going to the current sub (either disengaging the stock sub or leaving it engaged with the new sub as well)
Thanks for any replies!
