I'm getting my E550 cab in a few days and it has the premium leather option. Is this the nappa leather or more leather covered interior fittings such as the console or doors. I know on my S550 it was a different type of leather but I can't find anything about this on the cabrio. Thanks!

I think I remember that the premium leather was perforated.

I just got my E550 coupe a few weeks ago with the premium leather option. It is VERY nice. The seats are perforated on the Premium 2 seat option (it has the adjustable lumbar, rack, and bolsters. And the armrest, center console, and part of the door [anels are coevred in the Nappa leather.

For as much as the E550 with a P2 costs, I can't, the for life of me, figure out why "premium leather" isn't standard fare.

This is correct. Perforated seats come as part of the P2 Package, whether or not you order premium leather. They are perforated because they are "Heated and Active Ventilated" seats. Warm or cool cabin air is circulated through them to aid driver and front passenger comfort. Nice touch!
