2012 V6 Fuel Efficiency Increase
Regarding the anticipated fuel efficiency increase to be seen with the U.S. version of the new 2012 V6 engine, following is from a MB release announcing the 2012 M Class to be introduced in September.
The E350 Coupe cannot of course be directly compared to the SUV in terms of expected fuel mileage. However, the percentage increase noted in the table may well be relevant.
Unfortunately, it appears the hoped for large increase in fuel efficiency for the U.S. version of the new motor will not be realized unless/until lean-burn and start-stop technology make it here eventually.

Dissapointing and as expected since I checked out and posted the new CLS EPA #'s which was only a 1 mpg increase albeit with lots more power/torque so I guess we shouldn't complain.
