Settings for exterior rear view mirrors to fold?
Hi All - I just picked up my 2012 E350 cabriolet in Stuttgart yesterday; will certainly post pictures soon. In the meantime, I will be grateful if anyone here is able to assist me with one feature. I know that exterior rear view mirrors should fold when you lock the car; at least that is a feature in my S class. Do we have the same feature in our E350s? If yes, are there any settings that we need to do for this? When I lock my car, these mirrors don't fold at present.
Thanks in advance!!

When the car is stationary, engine off - ignition on use the steering wheel controls and in Vehicle/Convenience it should be listed on there so you can change it to fold, my mirrors were defaulted to not close when I was picking the car up and the salesman showed me how to change them to close on locking.

The auto fold options do have their problems in that if the mirrors fold every time the car is locked the very thin wires will eventually break inside the mirror housing, on the latest model the wires and fulcrum point where the mirror turns on has been moved making this problem a little better as the wires inside the mirror do not move so much

You folks who buy the Canadian version and, from what has been said here, apparently the Euro version (?) of the car get the folding mirrors.
FYI for anyone buying the U.S. version of the car, that option is not available. Maybe in the future, but not now. The last time I checked with the dealer, there is no way to upgrade an existing car either, should the option become available.
