R01 Performance Tires?

Am placing my order for a E550 cab on Sat. Looking at the paperwork it calls out, "R01 Performance tires (reqires 321 package)". Anyone know if there is actually an option as to the type of tires provided as suggested by this option? As have elected the Appearance package. Details, details, details. Tnx

I wonder what their definition of "performance tires" are...

I would inspect the tires and see if you really need them. If not, I would tell them to take it off.

Yes R01 is a $0 cost option. However since it's a special (SPC) order you'll have to pay $250 for the privilege. I ordered it for my E550A which is being built this week. Not sure of exactly what type of tires they are though!

$60 a tire doesn't sound like much of a zero cost option. I've already payed once for the 321 package. They've got a real racket going on when they can advertise items as no cost options and then simply because they want to, charge you for the privlidge of taking advantage of offered options, items from them under the guys of a "special order". Same BS with the two color interiors, no cost execpt the $250 they decided I should pay. Really pretty sleasy for Mercedes.

What's a "550A"? Do you mean Auto? AMG Package?

The SPC is a one-time charge only though so if you've already paid it for something else than you don't have to pay it again.

"A" is the factory code for the convertible.
