SD Memory Card?

Wondering if a 16GB SD memory card will work in the audio as I notice MB shows only 2GB cards as accessories? Also, is there a specific type of card required or any micro SD work? Am trying to get a leg up on having to do this research and picking up odds and ends when the car arrives. Want to spend my time driving not looking for stuff. Tnks for your patience and help.

If you've got an SD card adapter then a micro SD will work, I did a fair bit of research on the system I've got before I took delivery and played it safe with an 8GB CF card and the relevant PCMCIA adapter. The newer systems have dropped that which has disappointed me somewhat.

However I use a 4 and 8GB SD HC card in my GL's COMAND and have no issues - apart from the resume speed which sometimes it takes a while and sometimes reads the card but plays nothing so have take card out then reinsert which is frustrating but only a small issue, but I have no such problems with the CF/PCMCIA set up in the E-Cab.

With the two PCMCIA adapters I have I've gotten a 32GB CF card and a 32GB SD card to work nicely. The SD adapter is made by SanDisk and the CF adapter is made by "i connect" (and was bought at a local Micro Center store).

Which PCMCIA adapter did you get and which did you found worked more smoothly, the CF or the SD? Thanks!

IIRC they both worked smoothly.Don't have either of the adapters in front of me but I just checked "microcenter.com",put "PCMCIA" in the search box and it came up as available for $6.99.

I would also like to know the brand. I think the issue is that some adapters are 16-bit (work in the car) and the larger capacity adapters are 32-bit (don't work). I swapped a 2G SD chip with a 32G SD chip in my Kingston PCMCIA adapter and it couldn't read it.

To anyone who gets more than 2GB, please name the PCMCIA and SD chip brands.

Thanks!
