Good to know you received my email.I just wanted to tell you that having the daytime running lamps on at night really add more style of the car.I'm not that big on the 2014
benzes that have the daytime running lamps located inside the headlamps.I know that other manufacturers have them there also such audi,nissan,range rovers and hyudai.To me it tends to make the car look it has underliner under it's eyes which gives the car too much of a feminin look.By the way, where in Europe are you?

No problem for helping,by the way,I also like what the german manufactures have done f to the volkswagen(beetle).That car has shreded it's soft toy image to look more like man's car that reminds me more of what it parents are.....Porches.Please keep me updated on your progress with your DRL's......It should not take them long since it's just a code that tell the light's to stay on at all the time even when your headlamps are on.I'll have to load a picture of my car(or whip) as the young people refer to cars in US these days and it's not a good slang word to me not because am old......I'm just 49 !

If you are upgrading from the round DRL and Foglights on the front you would need an updated front SAM unit and confirm that the DRL pins are connected to plug 21M Left pin 10 and Right Pin 15. The other side goes to ground. I am in the process of updating my car to code 772 AMG styling package, bumpers and sideskirts along with the LED DRLs in front. I should know if this works (staying on with headlights) in a few weeks. I already updated the headlights to the factory P2 Bi-Xenon system with success.

Wow, these forums are awsome ! Rvinmendoza it's honor to help someone with this problem it's caused me alot of frustration at first but to get it fixed was so gratifiing.To help someone to not go throught what I went makes me feel good.You gotta let me know how this turns out for you.

After bringing to the dealership and told me they cannot do it, I went to this blog and find some helpful people (thanks to mrtbenz) contacted mbusa and talk to them and send me again to the dealership the tech there don't know how to do it they need to talk the tech from mbusa how to do it. Finally my DRL and headlight is ON at the same time. I will post a picture if a get a chance.

My e coupe, DRL is on change the headlight to HID 5k and replace the grill and side marker light.

I own a GLK300 plus 2014, is there any way to turn on the DRLs on the nighttime? I bought it in colombia and I believe my GLK is imported from the US please help....heres my email juand_alfonso@hotmail.com

E Class MBs are programed to dim when the headlights turn on. If you MOD the DRLs from halogen to LED you may need to reprogram the SAM or recode the SAM. Talk to your MB dealer.

Just take it to your dealer and tell them to change the SAT code.Moreover, they can contact mercedes benz of Memphis@ 901 345-6211 and ask for Jeff Hyatt and have him to reference Terran Holley's 2012 e350 cabriolet. Let me know this work out for you.

Did you find any answer for your problem? I have an 2011 E220 coupe and I have the same problem. The DRL during the daylight is just fine but turn off automatically when headlights automatically turn on. I visited local dealer but they failed to find a solution yet and they are saying that car is created like this. But this is not true because it has the ILS (intelligent light system )


Appreciate if you can give me any hints

Hi! just email, MBUSA_CAC@mbusa.com and told them my problem and what i want to do in my drl, and after 2 weeks they email me back and called me, the mb tech send me to the dealership (same dealership that cannot solve my problem) and give instructions to them. Now it's lights up the same time. Hope you can resolve your problem.

Does your modded DRL dim when the headlights come on or just stay at the same brightness?

The DRL dim when the headlights come on. The daytime running lamps improve the visibility of the vehicle during the day.
