Angry E550: Beware of thieves!

My typical Friday night of dinner and movie ended with a discovery of my side mirrors being stolen from my E550 Coupe. Both side mirror housings were taken, but left the mirrors behind. The Idiots didn't realize that the driver-side mirror is worth about 1k alone..

I filed a police report and had to make claim on insurance to have this fixed. The experience is highly unfortunate and I hope no other member on this forum has to go through this. Can't help but think someone is installing them on some crappy honda at the moment.

Just putting this out as awareness and watch out for these crooks.

I have a similar experience with my w209 a few years old.

I was visiting Montreal and I parked my car in downtown on a side street. When I got to my car at late night, I found my side mirror was missing. I noticed that there was a hole (probably made by a screwdriver) on the side mirror housing. Probably the thief did not know the proper way to remove the mirror so he went in by the housing. The repair cost was about $1,100 CAN.

Hard to come by E550 mirrors in the ghetto... Sorry, that sucks!
