I think that's ridiculous. I hate checking the oil electronically. Half the time it doesnt work and it tells me the car is not level even when Im on perfectly flat ground...

I own a 2010 and didn't know that the 2012's don't have Dipsticks. That's just wrong. I've been checking my oil with a Dipstick for 48 years. Maybe we can petition MB to bring back the Dipstick.

I have had several cars that had no dipstick - currently my E 55 is one and having owned it for more then 5 years I do not miss the dipstick - I have never had to add oil between oil changes either. It's progress I guess - just like the computer that tells us when to service the car.

So it's a glaring error in the manual. But there it is, on page 275 of the Operator's Manual, a write up on the use of the non-existent dipstick.
How is it done electronically? I couldn't find anything on that in the manual.

My w209 does not have a dipstick as well.
I check the oil level in the dyno Mode, which gives me the oil level in liters. When I start my car, the oil level is between 7.2L to 7.5L and it goes down to 5.5L to 6.5L while driving.

This instruction applies to w209, not sure if it would work for a C207.
1. Default mode in the cluster is set to Temp.
2. Turn to Ignition-1. Within 2 seconds, press the reset button 3 times. There should be a beep. You are now in Dyno Mode.
3. Go through the menu and the 2nd one will have Oil Level.
4. Start the car and the data of oil level will be populated.
This is the way, the better way, I check my oil.

Are you sure you haaven't just missed seeing it?
My 2012 550 has one, though it's not in the location shown in the manual. Mine is on the back RIGHT of the engine. Maybe the manual is just wrong for both cars?

Try the instruction below for a C207 posted by someone here:
"To get into dyno mode, insert your key and turn it only 1 click (if you have Keyless Go, press the button once, foot off the brake). On the mileage screen press and hold OK and Answer Call button simultaneously. You have to either press down accept call and then OK and then hold them pressed or vice versa."

Tried every combo on my 2012 C207 - all it does is ask me if I want to reset the odometer...

There has to be a dipstick. It's in the manual though they got the location wrong for my 550.
Come on, somebody with a 350 who has checked their oil please chime in with the location.

Found it! It's at the rear on the right side of the engine, not on the left as the manual says.
