Reciever Hitch for Bikes for E350 Cabriolet

Has anyone used a receiver hitch for the e350 cabriolet? I need one to carry a couple of bikes. If you have seen or used it, can you tell me who makes it? Thanks.

E550 Cabriolet
Hi, this is Robert in SF. I am a cyclist as well and just got a CPO 2011 E550 Cabriolet. I was looking at ways to carry my bikes too. Were you ever able to fit your car with a hitch? If not, what have you done to transport your bikes?

Bike trunk mount for E350 Cabriolet

Etrailer now say that there is no hitch compatible with the 2012 E350 Cabriolet, but do identify a Yakima trunk mount that will work. Here is a link to my question and their reply:

E550 Cabriolet
Bike transport

Doug, I opted against doing a trunk mount on my car as I am always weary of using a trunk mounted bike rack and the possibility of scratching my car due to dust and etc under the mount.

I had a custom tow hitch made for my car and now has a Kuat hitch rack that easily handles two bikes. I have been very happy with it and it doesn't spoil the look of the car and I can even put the top up or down with the bikes on the car as well.

I had to do some searching on where to get the hitch done, and found a place here in Northern California that was able to do it. I did a fair amount of research first and although this hitch won't be strong enough to tow anything, it is plenty strong for a couple of bikes. If you do get one done, I would look into making sure that they build the hitch to accommodate the weight of the rack you buy as well as the bikes you expect to transport.

The place I used was A&B Trailer Hitch Inc. in Redwood City, CA. 650-368-2125.

Hope that helps.

Robert
