I was surprised when I realized that as well. I can see the C-class not having it standard but I expected the E to come with it. Perhaps because now we don't have "just" HID lamps but also active lamps that follow your wheel and what not.

2012 E350 Coupe
Thoughts?
Yeah i was thinking of just changing the bulbs to some brighter and whiter light ones such as the Phillips or Sylvania bulbs but I wonder if it would match the same shade of light that the LEDs are? Has anyone done this on their E350 Coupe? If the HID kits are straightforward I might just do that as well... any thoughts or recommendations?

I think you should straight with HID. I was in the same situation and waist all my time and money on different kind of bulbs but didn't get safified until the HID kit. but then HID kit sometime give you headache too. last week my can bus kit ballast burned out after 3 months of use (so disappointed). was thinking getting the expensive kit from Philips about $300. but in the mean time i was playing with the ballast and try to plug my ballast without can bus from my 92 honda prelude and it just work fine exactly same brightness and color as the other one without any error one dashboard whatsoever . it was funny. thinking about all the can bus error free that i was worried about but a old *** 92 ballast do the same jobs. well will see what happen to my car.
