E550 - Incredible Gas Milage on Highway Run Today
Drove up 400 in Georgia today, which for those who don't know, is pretty much all up and down hills. I was driving carefully and managed to do 36.2 mpg over 21 miles!! This would have probably been better had it not been for a long toll both line
Just goes to show it's not the car, but the way you drive.

I routinely get 30-32 on highway trips at 70-75 mph! And the car only has about 1800 miles on it - I expect that to improve when the car is fully broken in. I am more then satisfied with these results. The dealer said people are opting for the 350 because it gets better millage.

I would think with modern assembly tolerances and things such as piston and gear surface coatings, break in may be a thing of the past with respect to fuel economy.

On the open road, I'm a little lead-footed and the 2011 was getting 26-27 on the interstate/highways while I'm now getting 29-31. All better than I expected when I bought the either car.

I have seen 23 mpg on my 13/18 rated GL450 averaging 58mph.
I have seen 24.5 on my 13/19 rated 6.0 GTO averaging 57-59 mph
So I can imagine how carefully OP was driving when he managed the 36.2 figure more so at 67 mph. Also maybe there was a slight elevation change as well which led to a magnificent numbers. To further verify the numbers, you gotta drive back in the opposite direction as well.
cudos for the effort though,
